Description

Product Introduction

The Variable-Angle Olecranon Locking Plate is designed for stable fixation of olecranon fractures with adjustable screw trajectories.

The plate incorporates a 30° conical variable-angle locking hole system, allowing locking screws to be positioned up to 15° off-axis in multiple directions. This provides flexibility in selecting screw trajectories according to the fracture pattern and the location of bone fragments.

The plate is anatomically contoured for the olecranon region and features rounded edges with a low-profile polished surface to help minimize soft tissue irritation. It is manufactured from TA3G pure titanium and TC4 titanium alloy, providing strength, corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility for orthopedic applications.

Features

  • Ball-headed threaded screws compatible with multidirectional locking and compression holes
  • 30° conical variable-angle locking holes with four locking threads per hole, allowing screw angulation of up to 15° in any direction
  • Sharp self-tapping tips on variable-angle locking screws for secure bone purchase
  • Anodized surface finish for corrosion resistance and implant identification
  • Anatomically contoured plate body with rounded edges and polished surface to reduce soft tissue interference
  • Cortical screws with spherical heads for use with dynamic compression or variable-angle compression holes

Advantage

  • Discontinuous thread design helps reduce the risk of cold welding between screw and plate threads
  • 15° multidirectional locking allows fixation paths to be adjusted according to fracture configuration and anatomy
  • Rigid screw-to-plate locking interface provides stable angular fixation
  • No additional instrumentation is required for variable-angle locking
  • Dual-screw configuration can provide rotational stability for fracture fragments
  • Screw reinsertion is possible when intraoperative adjustment is required
  • Anatomically shaped plate improves conformity to the olecranon region
  • Low-profile, rounded, and polished design helps minimize soft tissue irritation

Indications

Internal fixation of olecranon fractures, including:

  • Comminuted, displaced, or intra-articular olecranon fractures requiring angular stability
  • Osteoporotic fractures of the proximal ulna
  • Revision surgery following failed olecranon fixation
