The Femoral Reconstruction Nail System is an intramedullary fixation system designed to be implanted within the femoral medullary canal, where the nail and surrounding bone form a load-sharing structure.
Positioned along the central axis of the femoral shaft, the intramedullary nail provides resistance to bending forces while proximal and distal locking screws provide stable fixation, support axial compression, and help control rotational movement.
The system consists of a main nail, traction screw, locking screws, and end cap, all manufactured from TC4 titanium alloy. Two fixation configurations are available—Reconstruction Mode and Interlocking Mode—to accommodate different fracture patterns and fixation requirements.
The system is available in Reconstruction Mode and Interlocking Mode, providing flexibility for different femoral fracture patterns and surgical requirements.
The nail features a 5° lateral offset and 1500 mm anterior bow, designed to provide anatomical alignment within the femur.
A flat lateral surface combined with a low-profile groove design helps minimize soft-tissue irritation around the proximal femur.
The distal locking configuration supports multi-angle and multiplanar screw placement to enhance rotational stability during fracture fixation.
Reduced Soft-Tissue Irritation: The proximal cutting design is intended to minimize irritation to the lateral vastus muscle during implantation.
Flexible Surgical Options: Reconstruction and Interlocking modes allow the fixation configuration to be selected according to fracture type and complexity.
Optimized Structural Design: The nail geometry is designed to provide anatomical fit while maintaining the mechanical strength required for intramedullary fixation.
Enhanced Fixation for Complex Fractures: The locking configuration provides stable fixation for complex and unstable femoral fracture patterns.
The Femoral Reconstruction Nail System is designed for the fixation of femoral shaft fractures, femoral neck fractures, and complex combined femoral fractures, including:
Ipsilateral femoral shaft and femoral neck fractures (AO/OTA 32-A/B/C combined with 31-B)
Subtrochanteric fractures (AO/OTA 31-A1B3)
Intertrochanteric fractures combined with femoral shaft fractures
